Katie and the wild herd

Sorry about the lack of posts. Hey guys! Today I'm going to show you a preview of a book I'm writing called 'Katie and the Wild Herd'.

Katie and the Wild Herd

"One more jump to go Katie!" Shouted Mark, Katie's riding instructor as soon as she and Strider, her horse, jumped the coloured fence. After she jumped it she patted Strider on his neck and jumped off.

"If you ride like that on Saturday Katie, you'll be bound to win!" exclaimed Mark, "I'd reckon you should probably go and untack him now."

"Ok, see you later!" replied Katie, walking up the hill with Strider towards the stables. Suddenly she stopped and looked into the distance. 'What's that?' she thought to herself. As she looked closer she noticed there was a herd of horses.

"Mark! Come here! Quickly!" Screamed Katie.

"What is it Katie? I'm putting the - What the heck is over there!" He yelled.

"It's a herd of horses! Look!"

"Katie, I doubt it’s- Oh My God! It is! I will go and tell Neil, you take Strider up to his stable."

"But-"

"Now!"

"Ok..." Katie responded, glumly.

 

When she had finished untacking Strider, her best friend, Chloe, came up to her.

"Do you know about the wild herd Katie? I heard Mark and Neil talking about it."

"Yes Chloe, I do, I was the person who spotted it!" answered Katie.

"Well we need to do something about it! Like catch them or something!"

"You seriously think us, two 14 year olds, will be able to catch what, 16 wild horses?!"

"Well we would need a little help but-"

"Look Chloe, lay off it! We are not going to be able to catch them, even if we try! Leave it to Neil and Mark, besides, we have more to think about then them, the show, school and our job! Speaking about school, do you want to come to my house after I've finished to-do our project? We have 3 weeks left of the summer holidays and we haven't even started it yet!"

"Sure Katie and I guess you're right, I was being unrealistic. Do you need any help finishing off?"

"I think I'm done thanks, lets go!"

Review- The hunger games - catching fire (contains spoilers)

The hunger games- catching fire, an amazing book, right? Well, it's also and amazing film as well.

The basic plot is:
President snow decided to hold the 75th hunger games, but this one was different. All the previous winners had to compete against each other, one boy, one girl from each area. But president snow wanted Catness dead.

That is what about the first quarter of the film is about.

This was a great sequel and I could have happily sat and watched the next one!

I give this film 4/5 clouds purely because it wasn't quite as good as the first one.

I recommend watching this film if you haven't done already.

I am a 11 year old school girl in England, I live with my mum, dad, sister and brother and  a lot of pets! I am a horse lover by heart and have my own horse, Freddie. I love him with all my heart.
